Our coffee

A small corner of Tancred Street,
dialled in every morning.

Plainsong Espresso started with a two-group machine, a borrowed grinder and a stubborn belief that a country town deserves city coffee. Years on, that hasn't changed — just the queue out the door.

We pull shots of seasonal, single-origin beans roasted just up the road, and we taste-test every batch before it touches your cup. Slow mornings, good company, and a brew worth the drive across the plains.

01

Single-origin & seasonal

Beans chosen at their peak and rotated through the year, so the cup tastes of right now — never last season.

02

Roasted in Canterbury

Small-batch and local. From roaster to grinder is a short trip, and never more than a week in between.

03

Poured with care

Dialled in at open, adjusted through the day, and finished by hand. One note, held true.
